Hot Honey Cornbread Muffins

Hot Honey Chili Sauce

Hot Honey Cornbread Muffins

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cornmeal

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup melted butter

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons Silver Spring Hot Honey Chili Sauce

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a 12-count muffin pan with paper liners or spray with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, honey, and Silver Spring Hot Honey Chili Sauce until smooth. Then whisk in the egg and buttermilk.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined, do not overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter evenly into the muffin cups. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Serve warm with a drizzle of Silver Spring Hot Honey Chili Sauce for an extra touch of sweet heat.
