Classic Croque Monsieur with Dijon and Horseradish

Ingredients:
Bechamel sauce- 3 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- ¼ cup aged cheddar or gruyere shredded
- 1 Tbsp Silver Spring Dijon Mustard
- 2 Tbsp Silver Spring Prepared Horseradish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sandwich
- 2 cups aged cheddar or gruyere shredded
- 8 slices Italian bread, cut thickly
- 6 slices ham
- 6 slices turkey
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375F.
- Slice the bread and place in an even layer on a baking sheet.
- Place in oven and bake until lightly toasted, 5 minutes.
- While bread is toasting melt the butter over medium heat in a pot. Once butter is melted add flour and whisk stirring constantly for about 3 minutes. Gradually add milk stirring well until mixture is smooth.
- Slowly add shredded cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove from heat and stir in Silver Spring Dijon Mustard and Silver Spring Prepared Horseradish.
- To build the sandwich top one of the bread slices with the bechamel sauce, ham, turkey and cheese. Top with another piece of toasted bread. Spread bechamel sauce on top and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
- Broil the tops of the sandwiches for 2-5 minutes or until desired doneness.
