Horseradish Celebrated as King of Condiments During July, National Horseradish Month

EAU CLAIRE, WI -- July 1, 2020 -- Silver Spring Foods, a subsidiary of Huntsinger Farms, the world’s largest grower and processor of horseradish is kicking off July, National Horseradish Month, with a celebration for the king of condiments.

With online and retail sales of Silver Spring Foods horseradish products exploding in recent months, up 123% and 12.5% respectively, the company is racing to meet demand. The company recently increased its horseradish supply by over 1 million pounds to fill retail and food service orders.

“Horseradish is the perfect condiment for any meat or meat substitute, and a great ingredient for dips, salad dressings, and marinades - a little goes a long way,” says Eric Rygg, President of Silver Spring Foods. “For too long horseradish has been the unsung hero of the condiment shelf. With the nation staying home for the last almost four months, we’ve seen a big surge in interest in our products as people have been looking for new ways to bring flavor to their home cooking. Today, more and more people across the country are recognizing horseradish as the king of condiments that it is.”

Silver Spring Foods has a full line of prepared horseradish and mustard products that enhance flavors for any food. The beauty of it all? The condiment does so while adding very few calories and is gluten-free. “We truly have a sauce, a mustard, or a horseradish product for everyone,” added Rygg.

Silver Spring Foods products include Applewood Smoke Flavored Horseradish, Sriracha Sauce, Beer 'n Brat Mustard, Sassy Horseradish Sauce, and more (see the full line of products here).
